Who are you?
Read the About page!

Is this a scanlation group?
Technically no. It is one person (me) and sometimes others contribute scanlations. RAWs were gathered from people at the red_barns group on livejournal with appropriate credit where possible.

Why is it taking so long?
I am a university student and this is only one of many things I do on top of school. It has also been about three years since I was really in the I’ll fandom. Finishing the last few volumes is kind of one of those things you keep saying you’ll do and then there never seems to be time.

I really don’t like reading translations and RAWs, can I help make scanlations?
If you like to clean scans and paste text, please do let me know or just do it on your own and email me the final copy so that I can upload it for this site. I like to know where my translations are going and I like to share the finished product with the people who so kindly follow this site.

If you are a part of an already-existing group, this would be something that your group’s name would not go on or, if more than one group member would like to work on it we can make it a joint project.

Can I reupload your files to another file host?
If it is just for friends feel free. If you have a website where you like to share manga with the public please include a link back to this website and mangascreener’s so that it is clear you did not produce the scanlations. If you notice a link is dead, send me an email.

Can I upload your files to an aggregate site? (narutofan, onemanga, manghelpers, mangashare, etc)
My rule of thumb is that if they charge money for subscriptions or only allow you to see a certain number of chapters per month then NO. Donations for servers is okay, “plus” or “gold” accounts are not. Why? These sites are making a profit off of other people’s hard work.

If you are uploading to a read online site like onemanga, please make sure the credit page gets uploaded with the chapter and the same no-fee rule as above applies.

MangaTraders is okay! They get the official seal of approval.

Mangahelpers is currently in the process of going legal and is reportedly in negotiations with publishers in NA and Japan. You can read more about it here. It is an excellent site and I wish I had known about it sooner, but I don’t want to upload RAWs that are not mine and are not actually even from the Japanese publisher with my translations and then have them taken down a few months later.

Hello, I love soo much this manga series and appreciate your hard work with the translation. Im here to ask you a permission to use your translations to translate them to spanish. Ill be waiting for the answer, and thank you soooo much, youre the best, yei! ^^

Hello, I like this manga and thank you so much for your work with translate)
I want to ask you a permission to use your translations to translate them to russian language, of course all your credits and link on your site be saved. A, and I would like to ask, whether you will translate the final chapters?

Essentially a coming-of-age story, this manga follows a young man as he enters Kouzu High School with his childhood friends. Tachibana Akane rediscovers his love of basketball through a chance encounter with another young man, Hiiragi Hitonari, a "thoroughbred" who has been groomed from a young age by his father and older brother for the game and then rebels. Their deepening rivalry and friendship brings together a motley underdog team to challenge for a place in Nationals, each character overcoming their own personal life problems in the face of their passion for the game. Though sheer grit and hard work they aim for their highest dreams in the face of life's very real difficulties. Asada's touchingly real characters and talent for tension guarantees you will be laughing, cheering, and crying for the characters by the end. Originally published in Monthly Shonen Jump in 1995, this manga concluded with Volume 14. It has been republished in French and Korean with the subtitle "Generation Basket" and has also produced a 2-episode OVA "I'll [CKBC]". The author is currently working on Tegami Bachi which is currently published monthly in Jump SQ and has reached an even wider audience.
scanlations

[scan·lay·shun·s] noun combination of the words scan and translate; meaning to scan a body of work, usually a comic in a foreign language such as manga, into a digital form, translate the text to another language, and insert that text digitally in the place of the original. These are usually created by fans for fans and are of dubious legality as the properties are copyrighted to the original owners but generally not in the area in which they are being scanlated. As such, etiquette within the scanlation community maintains that money should not be charged for these works in order to avoid challenging legal authorities. Files are usually circulated by means of .zip files and free web hosts, with the original groups requiring only credit for their works, usually maintained in the form of an additional image within the file with the translators, scanners, and editors' online handles and the name of the group they belong to. This is foremost a method of fans introducing other fans to works that they otherwise would be unable to enjoy and readers of scanlations are always encouraged to purchase legal copies of works when they are licensed for publishing in their local language. No scanlator wants to remove money from the hands of their favourite writer or artist.
